Press Release – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MJ Anderson Photography Receives 2011 Best of Niskayuna Award

U.S. Commerce Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement

NEW YORK, NY, September 3, 2011 — MJ Anderson Photography has been selected for the 2011 Best of Niskayuna Award in the Photographers category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).

The USCA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2011 USCA Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

Give us a call at 518-225-6306 to set up an free appointment to discuss your wedding plans. We are now accepting bookings through all of 2010 and all of 2011. We do book that far in advance, so to be sure that you won’t be left “standing at the alter without us” be sure to book early! The best dates, of course, always book quickly.

Getting married “off season”, such as later this year or early in 2010? Give us a call! Although we do book a variety of events other than weddings we may still have your date available.

And if you know anyone putting together a large event such as a Sweet 16, anniversary, business function, or Mitzvah – well, we cover those types of events as well!

Ordering Photos

6 01 2009

Occasionally I’m asked how to use the website to order photos so I thought I’d take a minute and try to offer an explanation.

Normally I have posted a link to the photos here in the blog. When you select that link it will bring you to my e-commerce web pages where you can view and order your favorites!

If an event had a large number of photos, such as from a wedding, I may have divided the pictures into groups to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Once you select the group you’ll be presented with a page of thumbnail images. Simply click on the photo you want to order. Then, on its left will be a section labeled “Buy Photos”. Click on the place where it says “select a package” and simply choose what you want to order for that particular image, such as an 8×10 or a 5×7. Then it will add that to your shopping cart. When you’re done, simply display your shopping cart to see what’s in it, verify that you have ordered the right items then “check out” and it will ask for the usual name/address/credit card info and you’re all set!

If you have any problems placing your order please just click here to send us an email and we’ll work with you to get you going.

Remember that in addition to our photography, we also offer web design services. Give us a call!

Updated website!

12 02 2008

We’ve been working behind the scenes on updating and reworking our web site! Part of our on-going efforts to keep things fresh and lively!

Keep watching – on one of your next visits you will start seeing our new home page. Want to sneak a peek? Just follow this link – but be sure to bounce back here and leave us some comments!

And a reminder that in addition to photography, we also do website development for clients.

Fund Raisers

4 02 2008

A reminder to all non-profit organizations that photography can be a GREAT fund raising tool! I have worked with sports leagues, public schools, studios and other organizations to create customized fund raising programs.

We are already working toward summer and fall programs for this year and, as we book far in advance for some dates, on into next year already!

Don’t miss your chance to participate! Give us a call at 518-225-6306. Depending on the program specifics we can travel across the New York / New England area.

Are any of you bakers?

2 11 2007

One of the many things I do is provide website support to small businesses. Sometimes they just need the web help, sometimes they also need photographs of people, places or products.

Once of my web site clients offers an incredibly unique product, the SuperPeel. The SuperPeel is a simple device for sliding baked goods like pies, cakes, and pizzas in and out of the oven and on and off the counter top – without damaging the baked item! The SuperPeel can be used both at home for personal baking and also makes a great addition for the food prep team at commercial kitchens.

The product was just reviewed by the folks at “fine cooking”, a Taunton publication. The nice article can be read here. And my client’s website is www.SuperPeel.com.

And if you know of anyone who is looking to get their web site “cooking” or needs photos to enhance their current web site, please give me a call!

Locally Owned Businesses

14 06 2007

I have had the pleasure of taking portraits of some of the owners of locally owned businesses. In fact, I still have several more to take! These are going into the upcoming edition of Capital Region Living magazine which is doing a feature article on locally owned businesses. This evening the magazine hosted a reception to thank its advertisers for their support. For me, this was a fantastic opportunity to meet and network with some of the other businesses associated with the magazine!

In talking with some of the owners, I have found that many do not yet have any on-line presence! While they have thought about creating a web site some folks just haven’t gotten started. In addition to my photography, I also do web site work. Some of the folks I have had the pleasure of photographing will take advantage of my work for their existing web site or will have me develop a web presence for them and incorporate my photos.

MJ Anderson Photography can help you get started on-line! Give us a call and lets talk about the possibilities of helping your business grow and better connect with your customers – both current and future ones!
